Process Work

The journey of I N F U S E

Looking back at where I started and where I am now, it is a truly humbling experience. I enjoyed every minute of the process; the late nights of sketching and thinking, the rolls of trace I used and pushing myself beyond what I thought was my limit.

I dedicate this page to my two amazing mentors: Melvin Quirt and Lenore Richards. Thank You!

Stage 3- Situations

Envisioning spaces

Overview:

Creating a facility that involves the whole cycle of blood collection,

distribution and transfusion. The facility will involve, blood donors, staff

and patients with various blood disorders (Ex: Thalassemia, Sickle

Cell, Diamond Black fan, Aplastic, Fanconi and Hemolytic Anemia).

Those patients will need frequent blood transfusions and iron chelating

therapies in order to survive.

What is a sanctuary, an oasis of retreat without nature? Nothing.

Embodying a man's interference with nature in a lyrical way, such that greenery is embraced to create a harmony of form and detail. Allowing one’s heart to pause for a moment and breathe.

Coming to the awareness of

such space, nature needs to be the vital element in the healing of individuals, in motivating donors, and aspiring staff members.

It is a pivot point for the infusion and transfusion of spaces, volumes and light.

Having the space become a symbol of hope, rising from the ground towards the light, rooting the whole building down with a sympathetic attitude and calm dignity. Where anyone is welcomed into this intimidating and cheerful environment.
